CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Teaching kids how to write in cursive can help teach them to become better readers and spellers according to Iowa’s reading research center. The non-profit, housed at the University of Iowa, works to find better ways to teach students how to read and write.
And now, the researchers have developed a new teaching tool, shared at the annual Iowa science and reading summit. “Clifter” is a tool that helps support students who struggle with cursive handwriting speed and accuracy.
