We Can’t Get Enough Cat Videos

The Minnesota-original CatVideoFest hits the Twin Cities this weekend with a pawful of theatrical screenings to attend. The international festival is popular in the Twin Cities and raises money for local cat charities, animal welfare organizations, and shelters. It screens 75 minutes of cat video compilations, hand-selected from submissions around the world, in a theater with people outfitted in their best feline attire.

Theaters hosting the festival stretch from Eagan to White Bear Lake, including The Main Cinema and Riverview Theater in Minneapolis. The Main is partnering with Ruff Start Rescue, a non-profit organization based in Princeton, Minnesota, with foster services. Riverview is partnering with Feline Rescue, a cat shelter in St. Paul.

The Main has been hosting the CatVideoFest since 2019, and every couple of years they switch the local shelter to fundraise for. Ruff Start will be at The Main tabling during the screenings on Aug. 2–3. The Main added three more screenings of the fest due to popular demand…
