Florissant man gets 40 years for stolen car chase, drugs, striking worker

ST. LOUIS – A man who fled from police in a stolen car—while carrying a gun and drugs—and hit a city worker in December pleaded guilty on Tuesday.

On December 12, 2024, St. Louis Metropolitan Police said they began pursuing Jorden M. Owens, then 22, after he sped through a red light.

They attempted to stop the stolen Lexus RC350 by using spike strips after following him on Grand Boulevard, but Owens kept driving the vehicle recklessly, eventually losing control after weaving in and out of oncoming traffic and then ending up on the curb…
