Sunday bust nabs two for drug trafficking

On Sunday, July 20, Love County deputies, working with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office on a criminal interdiction emphasis shift, stopped a vehicle two miles south of Marietta on Interstate 35 for speeding.

When the deputies approached the vehicle, not only did the driver admit he was speeding, but the officers also noted the odor of marijuana.

A probable cause search of the vehicle located methamphetamine, marijuana, and cocaine, along with nine ounces of Xanax and more than two pounds of Ecstasy. A bag of unidentified pills was also confiscated and is pending lab examination for identification…
