WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office released details of events following the Wichita Police Department’s fatal shooting of 19-year-old Nehemiah C. Flemming. It happened on Thursday, July 24, around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of 21st and Hillside, at the department’s Patrol North substation.
According to Colonel Brian White with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, the officer was approached by Flemming. Before the officer could begin a conversation, another man attempted to persuade Flemming to walk away. Flemming then asked “about Black males carrying firearms.”…
