A 45-year-old man from Mexico who was living in Salem without documentation was arrested July 27 on drug trafficking charges after federal officers executed a search warrant.
The man was arrested on charges of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and heroin for trafficking more than 43 pounds of illicit drugs in Oregon. Investigators seized 32 pounds of fentanyl, 11 pounds of heroin, an automated money counter and thousands of dollars in cash.
The investigation was part of an ongoing investigation into a drug trafficking organization connected to Honduras and Mexico, according to the probable cause statement for the man’s arrest. The investigation is focused on fentanyl overdose deaths in the Portland area, the statement said…
