Buncombe County fugitive found on parkway, now in custody

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A man wanted on multiple charges has been located and taken into custody after being found on a hiking trail along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Buncombe County, authorities said.

Nicholas D.J. Ivers was spotted around 6 p.m. Wednesday by a passerby who then alerted a National Park Service ranger. The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed Ivers’ identity and said he is now in custody.

“The circumstances around how he was located are part of our investigation,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “We will provide additional details as we are able.”…
