Less than a year ago, Hurricane Helene ravaged many parts of Western North Carolina. Sadly, many people were trapped in the floodwaters and didn’t survive.
That nearly happened to an elderly couple stuck in their McDowell County home. The couple said they were preparing themselves for the worst, and had just enough time to say their goodbyes — but then someone came and pulled them to safety…
