Two more days of sauna-like heat and humidity

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – As we close out the month of July, we’ll have a continuation of our summer heat and oppressive humidity. Showers and storms will be around in spots during the second half of the day, but a cold front delivers a change this weekend. It will be wetter at times, but we’ll also have noticeable heat relief.

A mix of sun and clouds on this Thursday. Hot and summer-like with temperatures in the low to mid 90s during the afternoon. Peak heat index values, or feels like temperatures, will top out between 100 and 105 degrees. A few widely spaced showers and storms are possible during the afternoon with rain coverage around 20 to 30%. However, it likely gets stormier as we head into the evening hours again similar to Wednesday.

A chance of rain and storms will continue well into the nighttime hours Thursday. Rain coverage around 40% until at least Midnight. Lows early Friday will be in the mid 70s…
