COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Good Thursday morning! We’re starting off with cloudy skies and high humidity once again, following last night’s rounds of showers and thunderstorms. While a few patchy areas of light fog are possible this morning, visibility issues are minimal across most of the region.
As we move through the day, expect another round of hot and steamy conditions. Gradual clearing will allow temperatures to climb back into the mid 90s this afternoon and early evening. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for much of the viewing area, with heat index values likely to reach or exceed 100°F at times. The extreme heat may not persist as long as it did yesterday, but it’s still important to stay hydrated and limit time outdoors during peak heating.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible again this afternoon, continuing the unsettled pattern as a cold front slowly approaches from the northwest. This front is expected to move through by Friday, setting the stage for a welcome break from the oppressive heat…
