Florissant man found guilty in fatal street racing crash

ST. LOUIS – Jurors found a Florissant man guilty on Wednesday for his involvement in a fatal street racing crash that claimed the life of a 63-year-old woman.

Jaron Sims, 37, was found guilty on various charges, which include:

  • 2 x Armed Criminal Action
  • Second-degree assault
  • Fourth-degree assault

According to court documents, the crash happened on July 8, 2022, in the 2000 block of St. Louis Avenue—located in the St. Louis Place neighborhood. Evidence presented by prosecutors claimed that Sims and another driver were speed racing.
