Man sentenced to prison for robbing smoke shop, holding worker at gunpoint

A man was sentenced to prison for robbing a worker at a local smoke shop about two years ago.

During a plea hearing last week, Louis Beltran, 46, was sentenced to 30 years in prison by state District Judge Stephanie Boyd for aggravated robbery.

The first-degree felony carries a sentence of 5-99 years in prison; however, due to Beltran’s habitual offender status, the range of punishment increases to a minimum prison time of 25 years…
