Dalfonso’s Italian Imports, located at 445 Rhode Island Street in the Five Points neighborhood, is weighing anchor and heading to Allentown. In very short order, the sandwich shop and Italian-style deli became a beloved little lunch destination, but now owner owner Jeff Dalfonso is relocating into a more traditional business corridor street setting, where he will have an opportunity to expand his offerings. The new shop will be the former Owl Eyes café at 162 Allen Street.
This is very exciting news for Allentown, which could benefit from having an authentic sandwich shop and deli, during the daylight hours. The sandwiches and deli items are excellent, the old world Italian aesthetics are on point, and Dalfonso is an operator that knows what he’s doing.

While I don’t live in Allentown, I live equidistant from that neighborhood and Five Points, so I will continue to have this local delicacy in my back pocket. And I highly suggest that anyone that has not been to this quaint little eatery, do so immediately…
