Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Probes Death Of 35-Year-Old Inmate

Inmate Dies in Hospital; Investigation Underway

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County detectives are investigating the death of an inmate who was pronounced deceased at a local hospital on Wednesday. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, in a news release (25-089), identified the deceased as 35-year-old Raleigh Lindsey.

According to the report, Lindsey was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on June 6, 2025, by the St. Petersburg Police Department. He faced charges of one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and one count of Failure to Appear for Trespass After Warning.

Detectives say that on July 24, 2025, Lindsey was transported from the jail to the hospital for what were described as “medical reasons.” He remained at the hospital until he was pronounced deceased on July 31, 2025, at 5:14 a.m…
