Multiple roadways north of Wilmington were reported flooded out as result of heavy rain connected to a strong cold front approaching the area Thursday afternoon.
Flooding was reported at various times along Silverside Road, Governor Printz Boulevard, Rockland Road, Darley Road, and MLK Boulevard.
According to the Delaware Environmental Observation System, Claymont received 3.48″ inches of rain, mostly in a three-hour period, , but heavy rain amounts were spread throughout the state.

- Winterthur – 2.91″
- Lewes – 2.20″
- Prices Corner – 2.13″
- Indian River Inlet – 2.09″
- Newark (White Clay Creek SP) – 1.97″
- Stockley – 1.91″
That was enough to overwhelm storm drains and small creeks, and there are reports of disabled and/or abandoned vehicles in stormwater.
