Lincoln Police Capt. Jake Dilsaver has resigned from the department following an internal investigation, the City of Lincoln announced Thursday.
Dilsaver had been placed on administrative leave in March. His resignation, effective July 31, follows an investigation by the department’s Professional Standards Unit. City officials said the matter was unrelated to any pending lawsuits and declined further comment.
The resignation comes months after Dilsaver was named in a Nebraska Public Media report alleging sexually inappropriate messages to a coworker. Though not named in a lawsuit filed by former officer Sarah Williams, Dilsaver is referenced in a separate suit by former officer Angela Sands, who claims he sent unsolicited explicit photos to Williams while on duty.
