DNA evidence solves rape case after 23 years in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A Fairmount Heights man has been sentenced to life in prison for first-degree rape.

According to officials, James Lorenzo Greene, 49, received a life sentence for an incident that occurred on July 26, 2000. He had approached a man and woman walking in Montgomery Village that morning around 1:55 a.m and robbed them at gunpoint.

Officials said he then demanded that the man lie face down on the ground while Green raped the woman.
