Lakeshore Boulevard, with its row of lakefront, sprawling estates behind gated entries and surveillance cameras, is the most notorious street in Incline Village, the uber-wealthy community on Lake Tahoe’s north shore. That’s where the billionaires tend to buy homes.
But say you’re a millionaire looking for something a bit more hidden and private, but you still want the gorgeous view and serenity of an estate in Tahoe. That can be found on Champagne Road, a quieter neighborhood on the steep hillside above Incline Village where some of Incline’s most famous residents have purchased homes.
Two adjacent homes on Champagne Road are for sale for a combined $22 million. One of the houses was formerly owned by 13-time Grammy winner and R&B musician and record producer Kenneth Edmonds, also known as Babyface.
“Lake Shore gets all the notoriety, but if you can’t be a billionaire, we call this the eastern slope. And it’s just as awesome because it’s got huge views, big parcels and it’s very private,” said Ryan Mitchell, real estate agent for Compass. “That’s why celebrities like it.”…
