2 women sentenced to nearly 5 years in prison for elder fraud scheme

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Two central Alabama women have been sentenced for their involvement in an elder fraud scheme.

According to U.S. Attorney Prim Escalona, a U.S. District Court judge sentenced 32-year-old Mykia L. Henderson of Moody, and 50-year-old Cynthia H. Mixon of Fairfield to 57 months in prison.

Both Mixon and her daughter Henderson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft…
