Crash dumps 1,000 lbs. of hot dogs across I-83, 4 hospitalized

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A stretch of Interstate 83 closed in York County after a multi-vehicle crash dumped hot dogs across the roadway.

According to the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company, both lanes of I-83 were closed between Exit 8 to Glen Rock and Exit 4 to Stewartstown. Crews responded to the scene at 9:20 a.m. on Friday.

A spokesperson from PennDOT said just before 9:30 a.m. on Friday, a multi-vehicle crash occurred on the roadway. A tractor-trailer carrying 1,000 pounds of frozen hot dogs was breached, spilling the dogs onto the roadway…
