The Harrison Police Department will host its annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Harrison Library Park, located at 415 Harrison Avenue, between South Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard and North 5th Street in the heart of Harrison, New Jersey. A co-sponsor of the event is the Harrison/East Newark Elks Lodge #2326.
The event invites residents of all ages to enjoy an evening of community connection, fun activities, and public safety awareness. The celebration will feature snacks, face painting, interactive games, and family-friendly entertainment. In addition, the Harrison Police Department has invited local merchants to participate and showcase their businesses as part of the evening’s festivities. After sunset, families are welcome to stay for a Movie in the Park screening under the stars, rounding out an evening of relaxation and unity.

National Night Out is more than just a night of festivities—it is a nationwide initiative aimed at fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. First introduced in 1984 by Matt Peskin of the National Association of Town Watch, National Night Out began as a way to promote neighborhood camaraderie and strengthen partnerships between the police and the public.
