Skating enthusiasts in the Triangle, it’s time to lace up! The Tarboro Road Community Center is hosting a monthly Pop-up Roller Skating session, set to roll out on Aug. 17. According to the City of Raleigh, the gathering promises to be a mixtape of movement, with a live DJ set to provide the perfect soundtrack of old-school R&B, hip-hop, and funk from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The event, as advertised by Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, emphasizes the need for participants to bring their own skates to groove on the rink’s surface.
Registration is as simple as skating up to the counter – just head to the front desk of the Center. Creators of the event are casting a wide net, hoping to catch skaters from all walks of life and of every ability level. “Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced skater, you will have a great time!” promises the City of Raleigh’s official announcement. But remember, only those aged 18 and up will be able to bask in this free, fun-filled afternoon.
Attendees are invited to join a growing roller skating event aimed at building community through a shared activity. The event promotes fellowship and physical activity, as described in its community-focused mission…
