Volvo driver’s nervous behavior leads to arrest at Holiday Inn Express

An Ocklawaha woman was arrested after her nervous behavior led to the discovery of narcotics in her vehicle during a stop at Holiday Inn Express.

A deputy stopped 41-year-old Jennifer Ann Radford in a gold 2004 Volvo S80 in the Holiday Inn Express parking lot on State Road 44 in Wildwood, around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle had a cracked front windshield that stretched from one side to the other.

The deputy approached Radford and explained the reason for the stop. As she grabbed her ID, she seemed to be nervous. She would not make eye contact with the deputy, and her hands shook while holding her documents, the report said.

Due to these observations, the deputy asked a K-9 unit to respond to the scene. A K-9 then sniffed around the outside of the vehicle and positively alerted to the odor of narcotics. A search of the vehicle ensued, the report said…
