Customers were waiting at the door Friday outside Columbia Care in North Wilmington, where the medical marijuana facility opened its extension for retail customers on the first day of legal sales of cannabis to adults for recreational use.
The facility is one of a dozen throughout Delaware that were approved by the Office of the Marijuana Commissioner to start sales August 1st. More licensees are expected to get up and running in the coming months, according to the OMC.
“It’s really nice to have a good source, to know that items that I’m grabbing and smoking and putting into my body are clean, and it’s just a monumental occasion,” Alvie of Wilmington said. “We’ve been waiting here for years for this to be open and finally the day has come.”…
