Lansing resident charged in connection to 5-year-old boy’s shooting

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– A Lansing resident has been charged with violating firearm safe storage laws following an incident where a 5-year-old child was injured after a gun went off on July 14, 2025.

According to the Ingham County Prosecuting Office, Earnestine Hayes, 34, could face up to five years in prison.
