Vaccine requirements for Alabama students

(WTVY) – Children are getting ready to go back to school, but before they head to the classroom, certain vaccines are required.

The Alabama Department of Public Health requires children enrolled in day care, Head Start, and public or private school to have a valid certificate of immunization on file.

Attendees of day care and Head Start must be age-appropriately vaccinated against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, measles, mumps, rubella, Haemophilus influenza type b, polio, and chickenpox…
