CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The City of Portland rolls out an early warning system that allows its residents to stay informed and ready in case of emergencies.
The city uses a new emergency system to send out alerts faster, up to 1,000 phone numbers per minute. It then delivers a recorded message to a live person or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to any number.
