Task Force reports multiple arrests last Saturday

Twenty officers from multiple agencies around Madison County took part in last Saturday’s deployment of the Cross-River Crime Task Force. They focused on the Route 3 area in Granite City and various areas in Alton. Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Haine even went on a ride-along.

The Task Force conducted proactive patrols, and traffic stops utilizing intelligence-based policing, technology, and inter-agency coordination. Task Force Commander Marcos Pulido, Chief Deputy of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and tells The Big Z that they are hearing criminals are thinking twice about coming to Madison County.

As for the results, multiple fugitives apprehended on outstanding warrants, including felony drug offenses, and a fugitive who was in violation of sex-offender registration requirements. In separate traffic stops, there were several arrests for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, including one subject charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm/Armed Violence. A total of four firearms were seized. And there were numerous drug seizures as well…
