LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The North Las Vegas Municipal Court celebrated the graduation of eight veterans from the CARE Veterans Treatment Court, which supports veterans who are facing criminal charges related to issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury or substance use.
The graduation marked the program’s fifth graduating class, and since its launch, the court has seen 39 veterans complete the program.
CARE stands for Community Approach to Rehabilitation and Engagement, and the treatment court provides a structured, treatment-based alternative to traditional sentencing with the goal of reducing recidivism, improving lives, and strengthening public safety in North Las Vegas…
