BURMINGHAM, Ala. — A former DHR contract worker has now been charged in the hot car death of a 3-year-old.
Kettorius “KJ” Starkes Jr. died when he was left inside a vehicle on july 22. 54-year-old Kela Stanford was supposed to take KJ back to daycare after a visit with his biological father. However, records show stanford drove home and left KJ in the car for five hours after getting something to eat.
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey called the death “reprehensible and gross negligence.”…
