One killed, one seriously injured in Suffolk morning crash

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — One person died, and another was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in Suffolk Friday morning.

Suffolk Police responded to a multi-vehicle accident in the 3900 block of Whaleyville Boulevard at approximately 8:15 a.m. It involved two cars and a commercial motor vehicle.

An occupant in one car was pronounced dead at the scene. The decedent was identified as 69-year-old Alvin Lee Ward Jr. Another occupant of the car sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital by Suffolk Fire & Rescue…
