A Technicolor Western filmed entirely in the Palo Duro Canyon will return to the big screen this weekend as part of a fundraiser supporting the second annual Amarillo International Film Festival, scheduled for Oct. 9-11, 2025, at Arts in the Sunset.
A screening of “The Sundowners” (1950) is set for Saturday, Aug. 2, at Sad Monkey Mercantile, located just outside the entrance to Palo Duro Canyon. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the film starting at 7:30 p.m.
