This unique drinking establishment opened in 2019 in a former stained-glass store, according to the Des Moines Register. The interior features retro artwork and furniture, and glasses found at thrift stores. The Bartender’s Handshake is a small, intimate bar. The Register reports that it can feel crowded with only four people inside. To create more room, an outdoor patio area was added in 2020.
