HSS providers concerned state’s decision to end program will increase homelessness

The sudden news that the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) plans to shut down its Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) program is causing concerns among providers.

“Housing stabilization is a crucial thing for folks in need, so getting rid of this would absolutely devastate people who really need this,” said Hannah Albright, director of housing stabilization services at Believe Again Home Care.

She explained they’ve housed 83 people with disabilities and certain diagnoses through the program since 2021…
