ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A North County Police Cooperative (NCPC) K9 died in the line of duty Wednesday, but questions remain on how the dog died.
According to NCPC, around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were attempting to pull over a suspected stolen vehicle in the 6200 block of Wells Avenue. Police say as officers tried to pull the vehicle over, the suspects fled and crashed at a nearby intersection.
In a press release about the incident, police said, “The two suspects exited the crashed vehicle and fled on foot in two separate directions ultimately resulting in the death of K9 Oya, who was utilized to assist in the apprehension of one of the suspects.”…
