Man arrested in two Calvert County armed robberies after Bowie takedown

DUNKIRK, MD — A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two armed robberies in Calvert County, following a coordinated law enforcement takedown in Bowie, authorities announced Wednesday.

Jonathan Alexander Gray of Prince Frederick was identified as the suspect in a July 25 robbery at the Verizon Wireless store in Dunkirk, where he allegedly stole an Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max and left a threatening note on a napkin claiming he had a firearm. Gray fled the store on foot.

Two days later, on July 27, Gray allegedly robbed the Dash-In convenience store in Owings. In that incident, he reportedly threatened a clerk with a gun and fled with cash in a small white SUV…
