It’s no secret that higher interest rates over recent years coupled with a booming real estate market have made it a bit difficult for some prospective first-time homebuyers to find a chance to dive head-first into homeownership. That said, a recent report from WalletHub indicates that several Colorado cities are actually among some of the best in the United States for first-time buyers.
In a report published earlier this month, the company sought to determine where the best and worst cities for first-time homebuyers were around the country, comparing 300 cities of various sizes across 22 key metrics to make the final ranking. The results released by the company depict an overall ranking, as well as three rankings based on city size – large (68 total cities with 300,000-plus residents), midsize (99 total cities with 150,000 to 300,000 residents), and small (133 total cities with fewer than 150,000 residents). It’s also worth noting that data points being judged were split into three categories – one based on local real estate affordability, a second based on the health of the local real estate market, and a third based on quality of life.
Below you’ll find a breakdown of how Colorado’s cities performed, first looking at the city’s overall rank and then its size-based rank – and remember, there’s a total of 300 cities included in the overall ranking…
