Oregon nurses’ new contract promises better care, safety upgrades

CORVALLIS, Ore. – More than 700 nurses in the mid-Willamette Valley have reached tentative contract agreements with Samaritan Health Services at two hospitals.

According to the Oregon Nurses Association (ONA), the agreements were finalized at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis and Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. These agreements aim to improve hospital safety, staffing, and healthcare costs. They also ensure that providers have a stronger voice in hospital closures.
