A 62-year-old man in a wheelchair died after being hit by a car in Māʻili, Oʻahu, on Tuesday night. The crash happened around 11:39 p.m. on Farrington Highway, west of Kaukama Street. Police said the man was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man, according to KHON2.
The 62-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died. This was the 46th traffic death on Oʻahu this year, compared to 23 at the same time last year, as reported by Hawaii News Now.
