ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – For the first time since 2023, the late sockeye run is seeing numbers into the multi-millions.
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Sockeye counts in the Kenai River have nearly eclipsed 3,000,000 in 2025. The official count was 2,937,819 as of July 31st, the final day for dipnetting in the area.
