Dublin police boost security to tackle car break-ins during Irish Fest weekend

DUBLIN, Ohio (WSYX) — As Dublin prepares for the influx of nearly 100,000 visitors for this weekend’s Irish Fest, local police are ramping up security measures to prevent car break-ins, a recurring issue during the festival last year.

Last year, more than 70 vehicles were targeted at two hotels and a parking garage near the event site.

“We heard about it,” said Enda Scahill, a member of the Irish and bluegrass band Gahdan, who is set to perform at the festival again this year. “Thankfully we were on stage, didn’t leave anything in the car, we never do.”…
