Woman charged after dog suffers 1st-degree burns in hot truck bed

COBB COUNTY, Ga. (WSB/CNN NEWSOURCE/WKRC) – A Georgia woman is facing animal cruelty charges after her dog suffered first-degree burns from being left in the back of a hot truck for at least 10 hours, authorities said.

“They don’t sweat like people do to stay cool and of course without water and cooling they are going to overheat,” said Cobb County Animal Services Director Steve Hammond.
