LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Louisville Metro Police officer will not face criminal charges in connection to a deadly crash that happened earlier this year.
According to ABC affiliate WHAS 11, a Jefferson County grand jury declined to indict Officer Alyssa Begel, who was involved in the April crash that killed 61-year-old Charles Briscoe. Officials say Begel was responding to assist EMS at the time and was speeding on Fern Valley Road when she collided with Briscoe’s vehicle.
Dashcam video reportedly showed Begel driving aggressively, without activating her cruiser’s lights or sirens. Despite the footage, prosecutors say the grand jury reviewed all available evidence and opted not to pursue charges…
