EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — In the heart of West El Paso, a building that now houses KFOX and CBS4 once echoed with the sounds of moviegoers. Originally opened as the Park Cinema on March 21, 1986, this venue was a beloved local theater with six screens and seating for about 1,600 people according to cinematour.com.
“It was a theater,” reminisced a staff member. “Back then, if I remember right, there were only a handful of movie theaters, not like now.”
According to CinemaTour.com, the theater was taken over by AMC on April 5, 2002, and closed its doors on October 23, 2003. Yet, the spirit of cinema lingers in the building…
