Plan to use Hermann Park land for Ben Taub Hospital expansion is against donor’s wishes, family says

Two major proposed changes to Houston’s iconic Hermann Park are leading to confusion and anger among community members and stakeholders who feel they are being excluded from decisions that would permanently alter the identity of the park.

One issue involves the golf course at Hermann Park. The other is a plan to condemn approximately nine acres of the park for the expansion of Ben Taub Hospital. Both major projects are shrouded in a fair amount of secrecy, though for far different reasons.
