Three individuals were injured Friday afternoon following a flash fire at ConocoPhillips’ Alpine Central Facility on Alaska’s North Slope, the company confirmed Saturday.
According to an official statement, the incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1. ConocoPhillips said the fire was “localized” and that work in the immediate area was halted immediately after the incident.
All three injured workers were treated initially at the on-site Alpine Medical Clinic before being flown to Anchorage for further medical care. As of Saturday morning, one individual had been released from the hospital, while the other two remain hospitalized in stable condition…
