Alexandria police officer served summons for reckless driving during chase with stolen car

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — An Alexandria police officer was served a summons for a crash while chasing a stolen car.

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said on Friday that one of its officers was served a summons for reckless driving for an incident that happened on June 14 at around 10 a.m. There, they were actively chasing a stolen car when they crashed into a different car at the Franklin and South Patrick streets intersection.

The officer and the driver had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
