Good boy! Southern Michigan police dog Rizzo heads into retirement after 8 years

CALHOUN COUNTY, MI – A police dog with one Southern Michigan sheriff’s department is heading into a well-deserved retirement after eight years of service.

Rizzo, a Belgian Malinois, has been a dual-purpose patrol and Special Response Team K-9 officer with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, working alongside his handler Deputy Matt Burpee since 2017.
