Sevierville locals had the opportunity to ensure their little ones were buckled up securely as the Sevierville Police Department hosted a free child car safety seat event today. Taking place at the Chick-fil-A on 770 Winfield Dunn Parkway, trained technicians from SPD were on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering their expertise to parents and caregivers who wanted to make sure they had their car seats installed correctly.
The event, firmly rooted in the Sevierville community’s safety concerns, allowed for inspections of already-owned car seats, recommendations for age-appropriate safety gear for children, and a platform where questions about transitioning from car seats to booster seats and regular seat belts could be answered. According to a social media post from the Sevierville Police Department, their commitment to “helping parents and caregivers make sure their children ride as safely as possible – every trip, every time” was a clear prioritization for the day’s events.
