STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – By Friday morning the water was gone, and all that was left in the street was debris — but it’s only a matter of time before the rains come again to a section of Stapleton that has been slammed over and over by flooding.
Along Bay, Water, Front and Canal streets the scene was that of a disaster Thursday following torrential downpours from a severe summer thunderstorm that overwhelmed the drainage system.
